De Villota death linked to 2012 crash injuries, family told
Spanish
racing driver Maria De Villota died as a consequence of the injuries she
suffered during a crash last year, her family have been told.
De Villota, 33, was found dead in a hotel room in Seville, Spain on Friday.
The Formula 1 reserve driver lost her right eye in a crash in
July 2012, while testing for the
Marussia team.
In a
statement, the family said a forensic doctor told them she had died "as a
consequence of the neurological injuries she suffered" in the incident.
It's a very big loss for the F1 world. She was a very hard-working woman, and a very cheerful person. R.I.P.

María de Villota was an example for everyone, in the sports world. One year ago she survived the terrible accident she suffered in a race of F1. Althought nobody thought she would survive, finally she did it and during this year she has been fighting to come back the "normal" life. she was always a figther woman and she got all she wanted. She was always smiling, even after her accident. Because of it she will be remembered as "the warrior of the big smile".

I think she was a really good example for everyone and specially for The Formula 1 who will remember her as a strong and fighter women. Althought she lost her eye in a clash she kept positive and she managed to get ahead. She was a wonderful person and a fantastic pilot.

Maria was a really strong person and she survived to a serious car crash. Maria had been fighting after the accident, but she finally died because of the injuries she suffered. Her death is very sad because she was about to present her first book called "La vida es un regalo" in wich she talked about her experience.

ResponderEliminarMaria de Villota was the first spanish racing driver. She opened doors for women in the world of formula 1. She wanted to be a racing driver but she wasn ´t part of an official famous team. After her serious accident, she lost her eye sight and she was no longer in the races.

I think Formula One drivers risk their lives driving at such high speeds. Thanks to Maria de Villota we know how dangerous it is. She was the first who wanted to participate in Formula One racing, and succeeded by the insistence and interest. In the accident that lost an eye tube, but also had serious head injuries and died because of them.
